Because I am a Quaker, i wanted to share the epistle below from the recently adjourned Sixth World Conference of Friends. I think that it can speak to all who are concerned with conservation and protecting the environment and all living things. Whether you agree with the theology or are a non-theist or have other perspectives, you may still find the words below as inspiring as I do.

I am a Quaker. Our Yearly Meeting is taking the Call and being moved as best we can. It is difficult to speak for all Quakers, maybe impossible. The questions that have come before me or I have heard include: How should I change? Should there be group actions? How might this interdigitate with my other social justice commitments? How do I present this to someone who has never spent time in a group with this, to capture the spirit within the words. What is a Call?
