I don't agree with the new writing on the mountain either, but if El Paso can't stop the writing on the Franklin Mountain why should we try to stop Juarez from doing it. Everything should start at home in El Paso. We should get UTEP and the EP government to stop the Franklin graffiti first.
ReplyDeleteHi this is Karla Guevara Walton with El Diario, the Juarez environmental department already notify the religious group to stop writing on the Mountain since they don't have a permit but they persist, this is the link to our story with the most recent developments plus video http://diario.mx/Local/2014-05-06_233ab792/notifican-a-congregacion-religiosa-que-suspenda-pinta-en-la-sierra&ref=1/
ReplyDeleteJim you seem to have a strong opinion and your one sided point of view is rather extreme. Look at both sides. The first message is somewhat iconic if you ask me and sends a good message.
ReplyDeleteIconic my ass. What if the first message was a statement by Marx or Islam or the Mormon Church or whatever? You may agree with the message - but that opinion is certainly not universal. Furthermore, there are ways to send messages. Destroying the natural beauty of a mountain is NOT a way to do so. If I were "one-sided", I would probably agree that such a message is iconic. Graffiti is graffiti and it mars and destroys fauna, flora, habitat, ecosystems - all things that make our lives better as well. Extreme? I'm disgusted.
ReplyDeleteI wish we could take a look at our mountains and then judge other places. I've seen local idiots of El Paso writing on the Franklin Mountains. Idiot high school fat kids writing on blue graffiti. I really wish we could make a bigger deal about our mountains. Maybe then these morons will think twice.
ReplyDeleteGetting ready to repaint the letters on the Juarez mountain again this 1 of September 2018 for the glory of GOD!
ReplyDeleteMission accomplished!!!
DeleteAnd also going for four Guinness world records that will make this iconic message even more publicity and giving Juarez a good name!
ReplyDeleteSoon!!!! For the world to see!!!
